exams, exams, exams, and exams.

wow this weekend has been full of homeworks, projects and all sorts of school related work to leave everything ready to go for the mun trip to Monterrey next week.

All I have on my mind right now is exams. Teachers like calling them quizzes while they’re not… Ms Sarah said her’s was gonna be really short and I just found a huge list on what we need for her exam. And trigonometry…. angles, radians, triangles. But what worries me the most is the English exam we have tomorrow. I’ve never been good with poetry and there’s a few vocab words that I can’t memorize, or I forget. Tuesday I have statistics and history. Statistics, I understand and they’re a piece of cake [ <- cliche ;) ] but history worries me.

Ties

I keep hating poetry. So I attempted to do a poem about something simple and let my creativity flow… this is the first version of it I will update it as inspiration comes to my mind.

Kites and Ties

Kites and ties are alike

a large and stretched color line

not as those such of a bike

but a in a smart way to combine

crossed and stripped,

spotted and squared

Buzz!

Today Google launched Google Buzz integrated to each and every gmail address. Google Buzz is a new social networking web application its like a combination between twitter and facebook. It allows users to share what’s going on in their lives and share it with either friends, family or colleagues. But the best part of Buzz is not Buzz itself, but the fact that its part of google.

Google has come to be like the globalized visa or passport necessary for any web surfer. With your google account you can access youtube, blogspot, docs, calendar, gmail and now your social networks within one place: google.

Pillow

About three months ago I was feeling splendid and I saw a big white and soft latex pillow that seemed really comfy, so I bought it. It was a really expensive pillow, and I thought that being expensive meant that it would be good. Huge mistake. The first night I barely slept and had to switch back to my old pillow. A few days after I was able to sleep with it all night long but it was not really good. Each day the pillow became more fluffy and soft.

Now, its dangerous to have that pillow around. Every time I touch it I fall asleep. The pillow is like a piece of cloud that when I place my head on it, it hugs me. It is as light as a and white as cotton.

Traffic

Today I had to take my car to the mechanic cause it stopped working just suddenly… and then it started working again but I was afraid it would happen again. I guess its just a bit of what having a car means, and perhaps I’m learning. So I decided to go to the mechanic.

For my surprise the government has decided to close 5 de Febrero… so traffic was tremendous. Cars all over me, and worst of all not just cars but also buses. I felt like being smashed by a giant when a bus almost crashed with me because my car is so small and he couldn’t see me. Few drivers in the world are amicable.

Internal well-beeing

This weekend seemed as another ordinary weekend at first, and, in some way it was; but for some reason I can’t identify right now, I have a great and intense feeling of well-being.

The weekend went by extremely quick. I worked in the event organization company Friday evening, Saturday and some time today. I did my second position statement for IMMUNS and started my lab report. Tonight I still have to work on my lab report and a history essay, I already had a cup of coffee and some muffins so I’m already set for a long night.

There’s this song that I listen over and over again. It’s called insomnia by Craig David. I really can’t identify why I like it so much. My best guess is the rhythm.

I got this new mug for my coffee. At first I thought it was stupid cause it’s like a chalk board, but later I started drawing in it and realized how cool it is to have my coffee in a mug that has a different design each day.

Well…. I guess I should get started with all my homework.

Be The Change You Want to See in The World
Gandhi
Reflexions regarding Haiti

The past few days I’ve been following the process of aid and assistance that the world is providing to this damaged country. It’s, indeed, shocking.

Well, this is what is going on in my mind regarding this subject at this time.

We try to protect ourselves from terrorism, but we don’t realize that the largest form of terrorism is natural disasters. We are hurting the world and this is just a taste of what may come in the future.

We’re not prepared to face major natural disasters. All of the technology we’ve created is useless, it can be destroyed before we even notice it. But, the worst part is that technology is making us useless as well, everyday we rely more on it.

Just think of it, what would we do in case of emergency without any phones (or cellphones), radio, internet, gas (cars, planes, boats) etc…

Scary, isn’t it?
